Which states have medical programs?
As of February 2022, there are currently 37 states and 4 territories that allow the use of medical cannabis but that may soon change!

An ancillary business is a business that does not touch the cannabis plant but provides services to sell the medication. This could be anything from packaging and labeling the product to safe banking.
How much cannabis can I buy?
Wondering how much cannabis you can purchase at a time? It varies from state to state, but here in DC patients can purchase up to 8 oz every 30 days.
Can I grow cannabis at home?
Ever wondered if you can grow your own cannabis at home?
Only a limited amount of states allow home growing and the number of plants that can be grown is restricted. Currently, in Louisiana home growing is not legal.
To find out which states allow home growing visit the respective state's Department of Health website.
Which states have recreational programs?
In the US, we currently have 18 states plus the District of Columbia, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam that have legalized recreational or adult use cannabis programs. In addition to this, another 13 states and the US Virgin Islands have decriminalized its use.
These laws are constantly changing so it is important to stay up to date with the legal use in your state.
Can cannabis help with cancer?
There is a large body of evidence that shows cannabis can help ease the symptoms related to cancer and its treatments.

What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant! There are over 140 of them discovered but the 2 most common are CBD and THC.
Where is cannabis produced?
Have you ever wondered where medical cannabis is produced? In order to ensure the safety of patients, state programs get their medical cannabis from regulated and approved facilities that lab test and verify all products from start to finish.

Let's talk vaporizers! This form of cannabis is a little bit different because it works fast. Once inhaled, you will notice an immediate effect within 30 seconds to 2 minutes. This form is good for patients who experience seizures, muscle cramps, or spasms.

Tinctures can be ingested under the tongue or in a beverage and start working within 60-90 minutes and can have a lasting effect of 6-8 hours.
Concentrates!
Let's talk about another form of cannabis - concentrates! This form of cannabis is processed in a way that allows patients to receive a higher dosage. There are many different types of concentrates depending on the way they are processed. Some include wax and shatter, rosin, and hash oil.
Keef Hash!
Let's discuss another cannabis form, kief! Kief is made up of the trichomes that fall off of the full marijuana plant. Then when you take those trichomes and press them together into blocks, you form hash.

Forgiveness
When my son told me he had used cannabis to treat his ailment, I regretfully judged him. I judged him out of fear and at the time, judged because of my lack of knowledge of cannabis medicine. Although he forgave me, the biggest challenge I faced was forgiving myself.
